PracticeWe believe emotion is the ultimate measure of life. Therefore, architecture has to transcend beyond reason, architecture needs to have more sensibility, more expression, more character, more emotion—more life. Influenced by the great Filipino modernists of the 20th century, we focus on the poetry of both form and space to evoke emotion in architecture. Moreover, we are committed in delivering professional service to all our projects regardless of scale - from modest rural houses to shopping malls at the heart of the city. We study as much as we could about our projects. We make sure that everything works from the general concept to the specific details, from the interior to the exterior, from the form to the space. Paul Blasco Paul Blasco leads the practice with a vision of creating architecture that is, above all else, a poetry of form and space. He has worked on over a hundred projects and has more than 12 years of extensive experience in the architecture industry, from designing, to detailing, to construction supervision. As the principal architect, he actively directs and supervises all of the designs. His involvement throughout the different processes ensures that each project remains true to its artistic vision and technical objectives. Prior to establishing his practice, Paul worked for the firm of Leandro V. Locsin Partners, an internationally acclaimed architecture firm in the Philippines. His exposure to several of the firm's recent projects have helped enhance his innate talent and eye for design. Moreover, his exposure to Locsin's earlier works from the 20th century made a lasting impression and have influenced his design sensibilities. After Locsin, Paul joined the Singapore architecture firm, A+P GRP, for its Philippine office. His main work was the supervision of the 23-storey, 668-room Bai Hotel in Cebu and the design of a 2-tower 21-storey mixed-use building in Myanmar. These experiences resulted in a confidence of handling monumental projects which eventually led to the start of his own practice. Paul completed his Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the University of the Philippines - Diliman. He was awarded with one of the Best Undergraduate Thesis. His final project was the design of an ICT Business Incubator Building at the UP South Science and Technology Park which represented his college in Archiprix International. Occasionally, Paul contributes to architecture publications. The most recent of which is for Domus, a design and architecture magazine based in Milan, Italy. His essay for the magazine, “Crisis at the Fringe,” is an overview of the architecture in Mindanao, in light of the recent Marawi Seige and other challenges facing the underdeveloped island. |
